"Those who can remember a time when house calls were common will know there was something enormously reassuring in the knowledge that ' the doctor is on his way!'  With hindsight we know there may have been a lot he didn't understand, but his medial kit, his long experience and his bedside manner gave us the confidence we needed to see us through.  In this snow covered farmyard we recall the results of such a visit;  the relieved smile of a concerned father, the eager helpfulness of an older son and the gentle courtliness of a country doctor.  It's early morning and all is well."
