Rocky Mountain Meadow may well be Glazier’s finest elk painting to date. For years, Nancy has struggled with how to paint frost on an elk’s coat. It has been one of the few frustrations she faces with elk paintings. She was terribly excited when she stepped back from this piece to find that she had finally succeeded in creating frost on their coats in shaded spots and melted frost on the areas that are in the sunlight. In addition, she included nine elk in the painting – each one different from the rest, each with its own, unique personality!
