In telling what was, G. Harvey's art stimulates our sense to the beauty which surrounds us today and reminds us that rain-wet streets still reflect the lights of shops and the headlights of cars. We can still see our breath on a cold morning, and gray winter days still draw us to the hearth. His work reminds us that the world has changed very much and very little, and that country lanes and city streets are still romantic. It is, after all, from living in the present that he draws his inspiration. |
